...that they may all be one; even as You,
Father, are in Me and I in You, that they
also may be in Us, so that the world
may believe that You sent Me.

Elisha did not see the moment of rapture of Elijah

    "Look" does not mean "see".

And Elisha saw [it,] and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. (2 Kings 2:12)

    יב  וֶאֱלִישָׁע רֹאֶה, וְהוּא מְצַעֵק אָבִי אָבִי רֶכֶב יִשְׂרָאֵל וּפָרָשָׁיו, וְלֹא רָאָהוּ, עוֹד; וַיַּחֲזֵק, בִּבְגָדָיו, וַיִּקְרָעֵם, לִשְׁנַיִם קְרָעִים.

    רֹאֶהStrong 7200

This word may have different shades of meaning. In some cases, the word translates as "to look".

The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing [that was] under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and [that]which he did, the LORD made [it]to prosper. (Genesis 39:23)

And Elisha looked [it,] and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. (2 Kings 2:12)

There's no word "it." In fact, when they were walking, Elisha looked at the lilies!

That is, the correct translation should be:
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

And Elisha looked [at lilies,] and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. (2 Kings 2:12)
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

I know that one pastor was shown a vision that Elisha looked at the lilies at the time of Elijah’s rapture and therefore did not see how Elijah’s rapture occurred.

This version of events is fully consistent with the other details of this event, known to us from Scripture:

<...> and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. (2 Kings 2:12)

Elisha tore his clothes in frustration that he missed the rapture of Elijah.

And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where [is]the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. (2 Kings 2:14)

Elisha was not even sure that he received the prophetic power from Elijah! "Where [is]the LORD God of Elijah?" He had to hit the water twice.

And when the sons of the prophets which [were]to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. <...> (2 Kings 2:15)

The prophetic sons did not say anything about the double strength of spirit in Elisha.

Finally, we know about the bad sign that accompanied Elisha's election:

So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who [was]plowing [with]twelve yoke [of oxen] before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and [then]I will follow thee. <...>
    (1 Kings 19:19,20)

    Compare with

And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
    (Luke 9: 61,62)

So, will anyone see the rapture of the Church? They will look at the people entering the Eastern Gate of the Third Temple, they will look — but they will not see and will not understand what happened before their eyes.

    I was reminded:

For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist <...> (Luke 7:28)

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias <...> (Luke 1:17)

We see that Jesus called Elijah the greatest prophet, not Elisha.

Among Christians, there is another popular misconception about Elijah: as if Elijah is one of two witnesses mentioned in Revelation. In fact, these two witnesses are not two people, in addition, these two witnesses have already died in 2005.

Through such techniques, when the reader can get a false idea of what is written, the Lord God filters out those who do not listen to the Spirit, but follow the majority in the mainstream. Here we see that almost the entire mass of Christianity followed the obvious, but the wrong version of the events described in the Bible.

Readers of the Russian translation of the Bible were a little more fortunate than those using an English translation. In Russian translated as "Elisha looked". But even this did not help the Russian Christians, they also did not pay attention to the fact that the text did not say exactly where Elisha looked at that moment.

In some cases, Bible translators are a disservice, trying to translate more clearly. For example, translating "7000 human names" as "7000 people".
