To understand the reason why most of today's Christians are opposed to building the Temple of God, we need to understand the reason why most of the ancient Jews turned out to be opposed to Jesus Christ.
Probably, among those specific people who rejected Jesus 2,000 years ago, the personal history of life was such that they repeatedly made their wrong choices. They assented to untruth, were tolerant to evil, they were politically correct. Their personal background led them to the habit of always agreeing with the majority of those around them, because in this way it was more convenient for them to live.
I think that the absolute majority of today's Christians are no different from the ancient Jews. They are unable to see the blatant replacement of the early church by the Christian religion of Rome, which killed the church in the 4th century.
