When the Church chose to serve the authorities of this world, she refused to be under the authority of God.
When we talk about the Church as a whole, not about individual communities, the general sign of the transition of the Church under the authority of Caesar is the adoption of Christianity as the state religion. We must accept as a sign of the death of the Church the assertion of Christianity as a state religion not in any of the small kingdoms of this world, but in the main world empire of those days: in the Roman Empire.
Such a sign is the "Theodosian decrees":
Between 389–392 he promulgated the "Theodosian decrees" (instituting a major change in his religious policies), which removed non-Nicene Christians from church office and abolished the last remaining expressions of Roman religion by making its holidays into workdays, banned blood sacrifices, closed Roman temples, confiscated temple endowments and disbanded the Vestal Virgins. Theodosius I, Nicene Christianity becomes the state religion
It is impossible to become a Christian with the help of an imperial edict. The population of the empire as it was before, remained in paganism. But to this paganism, they attached a tablet with the inscription: "Christianity". The fact that the Church, through its leadership, has agreed to such a profanation of faith in Jesus Christ, proves their spiritual death.
This sign is one of the seven voices of thunder.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)
The modern Christian religion is filled with this enmity. Therefore, we should not be surprised that the members of this harlot religion are opposed to the Third Temple.
Ezekiel's Temple is the death of the Christian religion, Ezekiel's Temple is the termination of God's contract with nations, Ezekiel's Temple the return of Messiah, Jesus Christ to Israel and the resurrection of Israel as king over nations, as a new incarnation of the Messiah.

Speaking of the death of the Church as a whole, we can compare this picture with the picture of the death of ancient Judea, which in general was hostile to God in practice, although there were a certain number of righteous there. In today's Christianity, there are also a number of righteous who will be revealed during the construction of the Third Temple, in the same way as the righteous of ancient Judea were revealed by the appearance of Jesus Christ.
