Some Bible translations contain fatal errors. Unfortunately. Comparing texts of national Bible translations with Masoretic text and the Septuagint is hard work. Some nations are luckier a little more than others: in their national translations there are not some of the mistakes that exist in English translations of the Bible. (But, perhaps, in these translations there are other errors that are not in the KJV).
Therefore, please do not consider me an expert on the Masoretic text and the Septuagint, I just had to deal with such a national translation, where these errors were absent. And when I wanted to talk about some of the prophecies of the Bible for an English audience, I was horrified to find that some important things in their Bible were written differently than in mine. For example, the story of Elijah's rapture. Or about the death of 7,000 names in Revelation.
But here I want to talk about Queen Esther and King Artaxerxes.Yes, I know that in the English Bible in the book of Esther there is no king Artaxerxes. Instead of the king Artaxerxes, there is listed another king, the mythical Ahasuerus.
It was a choice of two options: King Ahasuerus is listed in the Masoretic text, and King Artaxerxes is listed in the Septuagnint.
For fundamentalists accustomed to the literal interpretation of the Bible, this may sound blasphemous: the book of Esther, like the book of Daniel, belong to the genre of fiction. But it is so. Google this translates as "fiction", but in Russian it sounds like a work of art, a book.
This artwork is created by the mind of God, therefore it is filled with prophetic meaning and corresponds to all other books of the Bible: it was all dictated by the same Author.
So, we will read the book of Esther.
The feast of the king Artaxerxes in the third year of his reign. Beginning of the book of Esther. According to the rules of the interpretation of Scripture, if a number is not indicated, it means the 1st day of the month, if no month is indicated, then this is the first month, Nisan. Further 180 days of feast, and another 7 days of feast. Total 187 days. The 187th day of the feast, the culmination of the celebration, turned out to be Yom Kippur, the day of fasting of all Israel.
Clearly, a feast on the day of the fast could not end well, it turned out to be a scandal, and King Artaxerxes divorced from Queen Vashti.
We read on. Mordecai was an old man taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar in the 8th year of his reign, in 597 BC. In the 7th year of the king Artaxerxes, Mordecai was at least 149 years old. He was an educator of Esther, the daughter of his uncle. We do not know the age of Esther in the 7th year of King Artaxerxes. If Esther was then, say, 19 years old, then she has an age difference with her cousin Mordecai about 130 years.
It looks fantastic, but we believe the word written in the Bible, and we will not try to replace King Artaxerxes with his predecessor, King Xerxes. And those theologians who decided to look for realism in the Bible narrative, replacing Artaxerxes with Xerxes, passed by what we can find out further.
Coincidentally, Ezra came to Jerusalem also in the year 7 of Artaxerxes. Ezra found a disorder in Jerusalem: many Jews had foreign wives. Ezra exhorted sinners, and the people heeded Ezra: by the 10th month of the 7th year, all the priests who had desecrated themselves because of their marriage ties with foreign wives, decided to end this sin and divorce foreign wives.
And this decision of the priests, made in Jerusalem, led to the fact that in Shushan, King Artaxerxes chose Esther as his wife from all the maidens — what a coincidence! — exactly in the same 10th month of the 7th year!
I should add that Esther was taken to the king Artaxerxes on the 7th day of Hanukkah, and on the 8th day of Hanukkah Esther became queen. (But the holiday of Hanukkah appeared much later, and other events were the reason for the establishment of the celebration of Hanukkah.)
After Esther was elected queen, Artaxerxus exalted Haman, the eighth of the seven chief princes. And since Mordecai, under the Law, bowed only to God and the king, but did not worship Haman, the evil Haman planned to kill Mordecai, and in addition with him and all the Jews.
Haman came to the king, and the king agreed to give all the Jews to Haman. On the 13th day of the 1st month of Nisan, a decree was issued to kill all the Jews on the same day, on the 13th day of the 12th month, that is, Adar.
For three days the Jews wept and fasted when they heard of the king’s decree. And a miracle happened: Artaxerxes accepted the request of Esther, glorified Mordecai, and Haman was hanged on a tree, which he prepared to hang Mordecai! It is the 16th of Nisan!
And the 16th of Nisan, 452 BC. king Artaxerxes gave an oral Commandment:
Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal [it] with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse. (Esther 8: 8)
It was a verbal command that brought life back to the Jews, and joy came to the people of God. It was a command to rebuild Jerusalem, but not earthly Jerusalem, but Heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the joy of the saints, rejoicing in the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
And after that day, the 16th of Nisan, 452 BC, after 7 and 62 "weeks" for 7 years, according to the book of the Prophet Daniel, Jesus Christ rose again on this very day!
Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. (Daniel 9:25)
According to our calculations, it happened in 32.
( 7 + 62 ) x 7 = 483 years
452 BC plus 483 years, it turns out the 32nd year (taking into account the absence of the "zero" year).
What is most important here? No, the most important thing here is not the exact date of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, prophetically predicted in 2 books from the category of fiction.
The most important thing here is our understanding of Jerusalem, not as a material city, but as a spiritual city:
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever [in that] which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. (Isaiah 65:18)
All theologians were looking for the material decree of a king to restore Jerusalem. They were looking for a material decree on the restoration of the material city, which would fulfill Daniel's prophecy about 69 weeks. But the Scripture was not about the material city, and the decree was not written, but oral.
Additional confirmation of our version of the story of Queen Esther we see in the book of Nehemiah.
And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) ... (Nehemiah 2:6)
Why is it said here about the queen? Why was the queen interested in the Jewish capital? It was the 20th year of King Artaxerxes.

It would seem that the belief that what is written in the Bible must be understood literally is strong. And the denial of the theory of evolution in the 21st century among Christians is considered a sign of a firm faith in the Bible, a strong faith in God.
This is actually an empty faith.
In Genesis, it is described not the creation of the material world, but the creation of the social environment of humanity. There has never been a literal Great Flood described in the Bible; this is a parable. The real prophet Jonah was never in whale or fish, and the pagan capital Nineveh never repented because of the preaching of Jonah, this is an artistic image. The characters of the book of Esther may have real historical types, but the whole story of Purim is a fiction, for the edification of minds. The prophet Daniel in the form in which it is described in the book of Daniel in the Bible is a fictional character.
However, everything written in the Bible is true.
I hope you understand what artistic truth is. This is the truth of the spiritual dimension, outside the materialistic dimensions of space-time.
And so it turns out that for those who literally understand the Holy Scriptures, the dimension of faith may not be developed. Therefore, for them, two thousand years of study of the Scriptures — like water in sand, will go away and there is nothing.
Turn to God and correct your ways, do not follow the blind religious leaders into the common pit of the coming disappointment.

About the last, the seventh week of Daniel, it can also be interesting there, not at all like everyone is waiting for. In my opinion, than to guess about Daniel’s 70th week, it’s better to do what is already clear: to build the Third Temple for the assembly of the elect.

In essence, materialism is triumphant in Christianity today. Pictures of the spiritual world, described in the Bible, are interpreted in a vulgar-materialistic way. If the creation of the world to most Christians is represented by the literal creation of astronomical bodies and the creation of nature, then the book of Revelation is interpreted in the same wild way. Meteor showers, water poisoning in rivers, literal microchips implanted in the human body. None of this will happen, because Revelation describes another. On the other hand, the absolutely material Temple, described in the prophecy of Ezekiel, the brain damaged by materialism completely refuses to accept as a real future Temple in Israel.
Therefore, when Christians deny Darwin's theory, this is not such a harmless thing: without understanding the Scriptures, Christians will also reject the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Because their leaders misled them, just as the leaders of ancient Judea misled the Jews in relation to Jesus Christ.

Why are 7 and 62 written, not 69?
Let's say it would have been written: "after 69 weeks", and we would understand and no longer read Daniel. And so it is written about 7 and 62, and we do not understand why? so again we read again. And God needs the Scripture to come true, and for this purpose it is required that people read this word a few trillion times. Here He achieved in such a way that we read it.
Such an explanation.

When you read "7,62,7,62,7,62 ..." then the ether space of the spiritual vacuum is filled with the word forms "7" and "62", this is transmitted to other people, inanimate objects, and forms time. Our thoughts about 7 and 62 whistling like bullets. What is the caliber of the Kalashnikov? 7.62 mm. Fractals of Scripture are formed at every step, on the scale of one person, on the scale of individual denominations and on the scale of all mankind. This word will strike to death when it starts to come true: there are already a lot of "shots" 7 and 62 have been made.

Quote Andrew ( ) What was the "restore and to build Jerusalem" on the 16th of Nisan, when Artaxerxes Longiman gave oral orders for Esther and Mordecai? However, the resurrection of Jesus Christ in the 32nd year, 16 of Nisan, was the fulfillment of (7 + 62) x7 = 483 years, the "restore and to build Jerusalem".
What was the "restore and to build Jerusalem" at Pentecost of the 32nd year? However, from the day of the resurrection of Jesus Christ to Pentecost exactly 7 weeks, which corresponds to the first part of the period indicated in the prophecy of Daniel (7 + 62).
Therefore, I cannot exclude that the second part of the sum specified in the prophecy of Daniel should have a reference point on May 14, 2018, when the main country of the world transferred its embassy to Jerusalem. If this assumption is true, then we will see the fulfillment of the prophecy on July 21 or July 22, 2019 (according to the Hebrew calendar, the new day comes immediately after sunset). That is, we will be attentive to the events that will occur in the evening of the 21st of July, or on July 22, during the day, before sunset.
The main thing that should interest us among possible events: independent confirmation of the ruins of the altar of Abraham in the Judean desert.

A stolen sheep is legally paid four times. Here 69 in the first case and 71 x 4 in the second. 354 days is a common year in the lunar calendar.
